However, you're holding out for a year... That's fair. FIFA mainly concentrates on gameplay and physics updates each year, usually maintaining consistent modes. 2k shifts things significantly with each release, requiring players to adapt their skills every time it drops.
We're expecting this game for several months, so arriving four days early isn't too much of an issue. The additional material doesn't add any value once you've played through it and decide if it's worth your investment. This means no risk—just a small thank you to the developers for creating something great.
To you perhaps. But to me they are. I currently over over 1000 hours in 2k15. Believe me. Its worlds different than 2k14. The extra content makes perfect sense. Its extra content that you get for getting a game that you know is going to be fantastic. There has never been a bad 2k game. It's solid each and every year.
If they produce truly amazing games, you shouldn’t worry about spending extra after release to get more content. The decision to restrict access already raises red flags, suggesting they’re cutting corners and focusing on profits—this often results in them targeting someone eventually. That person is likely pre-ordering because they believe there’s never been a bad 2K title before.
The pre-order policy was abandoned once Steam began offering refunds.
