This might not be the right spot, but I’ll try anyway. Linux... advantages and disadvantages. I’ve got a customized Windows 10 setup, and it runs smoothly—fast. From what I understand, Linux users often want to turn off all tracking and spyware on Windows, which can make them feel uneasy about government surveillance.

They're utilizing my devices and online connection for their marketing or ads, which I don't require. Their constant changes are unnecessary and take up my time. On Linux, performance is better and other processes won't run without my permission. For updates, I have full control over how they proceed.

I mainly rely on Windows for gaming. MacOS+vms powers my work setup, and Pop! runs on my personal dev rig. I also manage proxmox and several VM versions such as Ubuntu 22 and CentOS for tasks like compilation and math work.

I’m running Windows 10 on my main computer. I’ve relied on Linux on my work laptop for several years, and it’s performed well. I mainly enjoy single-player games, but when Windows reaches end-of-life, I plan to switch to a new Linux desktop. My son plays multiplayer games and Linux might cause issues there. I intend to move my current setup to Windows 11 and pass it over so he can use it without problems.

Left my old Windows system three years back on my gaming rig, and I’ve been using Manjaro for my fourth year now. My laptop runs EOS, and my PC is still running smoothly.

The survey lacks sufficient choices. I run Windows, Linux, and BSD. Since my router uses BSD, I rely on it regularly—sometimes even more than on Linux.

It's cool to see many people pretending to be Linux enthusiasts, right? Trying to sound knowledgeable by listing several distros. Sometimes I have to switch to Windows just to get things done.
