I assume most participants will be using Windows because of its gaming focus. I wanted to create a discussion about operating system choices and preferences. I also set up a short survey using Google Forms to complement the conversation. Personally, I lean toward Linux. The biggest issues I've faced with OS so far are X11 (now being replaced by Wayland) and the outdated Nvidia drivers. I'd like more programs to support Linux, as it works well. OSX 12 is also impressive, even though it needs Apple hardware to run.

I rely on Windows mainly for gaming, but also because I'm comfortable with it. While I'm open to Linux, I've spent a lot of time with Windows that I can usually troubleshoot on my own without help from the internet. I don't really enjoy macOS anymore, especially with the graphical interface—it doesn't match my expectations, so I find it unappealing to manage.

I've grown quite fond of W10 Pro after years of disliking Windows for being unreliable. While it isn't particularly well-organized, I'm comfortable navigating it since I know its layout. It's stable now, though some features and drivers still feel lacking.

Windows 10 and Mac OS Sierra each serve their own needs. Mac OS is my preferred 'go-to' system, while Windows is my primary 'home' operating system.

Achieved 7 on the main work machine, 10 on the work laptop, and 10 at home. I favor 10 since it’s similar to 7 but more efficiently tailored for today’s hardware and software, and it offers a smoother start menu compared to Windows 8.

Linux itself is amazing, I have Linux Mint on my storage drive and it really is a joy to use. Though the support is just not there yet, so I just use Windows 7. I'm staying far away from Windows 10, hopefully by the time Windows 7 gets too old I'll be able to switch to Linux full time, if not I'll have to dual boot. Also, Linux can install to flash drives, which is just AMAZING! It's so cool!
