I upgraded the CPU but now my system won’t reach the BIOS.
I changed my Ryzen 5 2600 to the Ryzen 5 5600X today on a gigabyte B450M DS3h board and everything worked fine. I was using BIOS version F2, which is the latest at time of upgrade. I upgraded gradually: F2 → F32, then F32 → F41, and finally F41 → F61. Before switching, I confirmed compatibility by booting into Windows with the new BIOS. After installation, I started a game update and headed out for a drink. When I returned, the PC shut down automatically. I tried restarting it, but the process stalled repeatedly—sometimes it loaded the update screen, other times it went straight to login. I managed to enter my password, yet it would shut down again. The sequence of events was confusing. Could you assist me? I’m unsure what steps to take next.

You can create a fresh USB instance without losing your license key. Just ensure you have the necessary permissions and follow the setup steps correctly.
Before it restarts, you can try a few steps to ensure a smoother process. Make sure your system has enough free space and isn’t running resource-heavy programs. Also, check for any pending updates or background tasks that might interfere.
It seems like the SSD is failing, right? Would you like to connect it via USB to access the system? You constructed it in 2018, which is about six years ago—drives aren’t likely to be in great shape anymore.
I received additional issues after following an online guide to clean the disk. After reinstalling Windows, it shut down immediately when I entered my password. I restored the old CPU and reset the BIOS to its last stable state, but couldn’t access it. Now I can press the power button, and all fans except the CPU cooler start up, but nothing appears on the screen. It seems my PC might be irreparably damaged.
I don't believe the issue is related to a drive. It seems more likely a motherboard or CPU problem. There might be a BIOS or CPU mismatch. Another idea is that the new CPU overloaded the PSU, causing shutdowns before I replaced the old one. Now I just need something to show on the screen.
