Your PC seems to have some compatibility issues after the Windows 10 transition. Since you already have a valid Windows 8.1 installation, you might still be able to activate it properly. Checking the activation status and ensuring your motherboard drivers are up to date could help. If activation remains blocked, consider using a trusted activation tool or contacting Microsoft support for further assistance.

You're suggesting adding Windows 10 after installing Windows 8 using your activation key. That should work if the process supports it.

Ensure you're running Windows 8.1, which is likely your current version. Upgrade to Windows 10 if needed. If you're already on Windows 10, it won't support upgrading certain hardware components without re-registering.

You might need to purchase Windows 10 or download it from a torrent site if your current setup isn't working.

Contact MS support; they will disable the key so you can reactivate it on new equipment.
