Hi Everyone, I changed my B460m DS3H BIOS from F3 to F5. After the update, my PC wouldn’t boot and it stayed stuck on the Gigabyte Boot screen. I thought the boot sequence was wrong, so I removed my 2.5 inch Firecuda 2TB SSD and tried again. Now it works on the SSD after BIOS update, but my hard drive still doesn’t show up. When I plug it in, Windows and BIOS both detect it as Disk 1 but it’s blank—no partitions, no data. It seems like the drive isn’t recognized at all. I’ve tried connecting it to an external case, then to my PC and laptop via USB, but everything still shows up as “Disk 1, Unknown, Not Initialized.” I’m worried the drive might be dead and the update caused the problem. Any advice or troubleshooting steps you could suggest would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Consider using AOMEI Partition Assistant to attempt recovery of your drive or verify its detection.

I faced a comparable issue. A permanent solution required an RMA, while a quick fix involved reloading the BIOS.

During the Partition Recovery Wizard process, it indicates that the hard disk isn't accessible properly. It suggests checking for damage or connection issues. This implies the drive may be faulty.

The device is no longer covered by warranty, and Gigabyte warns that you can't revert to earlier BIOS versions on their support site.

Upgrade to the latest version—it’s not just the drive that requires an RMA, it’s the motherboard.
