You can use iTunes to convert MP4 to MP3 by exporting the video and then converting the exported file. Follow these steps:

1. Open your MP4 file in iTunes.
2. Go to `File` > `Export`.
3. Choose the desired format (MP3) and click `Export`.
4. After exporting, locate the MP3 file and use a third-party converter to further compress or adjust it if needed.

This method lets you leverage iTunes for the initial conversion while using external tools for additional processing.

It's not possible to change the format automatically. You'll need to adjust settings in iTunes or use a different method to convert the files.

I manage to load the menu, but pointing it at an mp4 file doesn't trigger any action. You can notice it's completely hidden.

ITunes has undergone significant changes, with many functionalities no longer operating correctly. If the MP4 file doesn't meet certain audio specifications, it won't work properly. It's recommended to consider alternative options instead.
