Hello. I'm having a problem. Please help me. My screen died a few weeks ago and I just bought a new LVDS cable and replaced my screen on my ROG GL703VD laptop, hoping that would fix it. But when I plugged it in, there is no picture at all. However, if I use an external monitor, the video shows up fine. What could be causing this issue?

Do you check the motherboard when you put a new laptop back together to make sure there are no broken parts like power components that got burnt or hurt? Also, did you swap out the screen with an identical one just like the old one so it matches perfectly?

I checked for burned spots or anything broken, but found none. I just swapped out my screen with a new one that matches the old specs too. I also changed out my LVDS cable. 😔 What is going on here? It still works fine when plugged into an external monitor!

Hello, changing things out on a computer screen needs to be done without any power source connected, like a battery or cable. If you leave them plugged in while doing the swap, it could create a short circuit on that part of the board. Even if your cables and screens look okay and the laptop works with an external monitor, you probably need to take the whole thing in for service. That's because it's most likely just the display circuit that needs checking.
