I increased my cpu's speed, restarted the computer, and checked the task manager—it still displays 3.4ghz. I also tried boosting it further to 3.8ghz, but it doesn't respond. Help needed.

What specifications are needed? CPU, motherboard, GPU, RAM, power supply, especially the case and cooling systems, as these factors play a key role in achieving successful overclocking.

You might think so, but a 'K' suffix on the CPU isn't strictly necessary for overclocking. It depends on the specific model and requirements. Make sure your motherboard supports the needed features.

He has an overclocking motherboard but not a CPU that can be overclocked.
