Turn off the key on your previous computer and turn it back on at the new one.

If it isn't turned on, the system may stop working properly. Avoid shifting between computers in that way.

Someone mentioned the license might be invalid. It seems the Windows copy is linked to the original motherboard, which changed when you replaced it. You didn’t use Windows for about five months, and it worked normally until a persistent activation prompt appeared.

You need to turn it back on again, remembering how it works. Right-clicking My Computer or This PC will show a reactivate option. Enter the phone number they provide, then follow their instructions to complete the activation. This process is necessary if your system hardware has changed significantly, as licenses are tied to one device only. If you switch back and forth, just leave it alone.

Using a different key on Windows wouldn't prompt activation on either PC.

You should design sections for every build. Assign unique keys to each section. Consider alternative approaches such as using Linux or combining OS and storage drives, then placing additional software on an SSD. Even these ideas may not meet your expectations.
