I explored various methods to manage heat in my Ryzen 3300X while maintaining quiet fans in an ITX setup. I found the Eco Mode setting, which reduces power consumption from 88W to 60W and from 65W to 45W. Testing before and after this adjustment didn’t show a noticeable performance change, though it did lower CPU temperatures and fan noise significantly. For reference, my environment is roughly 20-23°C without precise climate control. Based on these observations, running the system in Eco Mode appears beneficial for real-world use, offering cooler operation, quieter fans, and reduced power usage. Hardware details included the Ryzen 3 3300X with Be Quiet Pure Rock Slim cooling, paired with a GTX 1650 Super and other components.

Reducing maximum power usage often doesn’t lower ongoing tasks, yet starting a program can prevent the CPU from reaching its peak performance.

It maintains a consistent 4.35 GHz across both eco and stock variants since there are just four cores, leaving ample power capacity.
