I recently upgraded my GPU from a 3050 to a 4080 and changed the graphics cards in another room. I tried turning it on in that space without a monitor—it worked (colors appeared and fans ran)—then I turned it off, unplugged the power cable, moved my PC to a gaming room, and now whenever I flip the power switch (without pressing the button) the GPU flickers like a loose connection or something. I can’t start the PC either, so I’m stuck in this unstable state. The card also doesn’t respond. I’m really worried but thought before breaking anything else, I should ask the experts. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

Have you checked if the card is properly seated?

Suggest changing your existing card and verifying the old configuration functions. Check if all power connectors are PCIe slots on your PSU. Consider the wattage requirements for your high-power card.

Try a different card. If it works, you might have disabled the other one.

It might be a bit weak with 850 watts as the starting point. After removing and reinserting the card, you rewired it and still faced flickering. It seems the power supply could be the problem. Is everything turning on and off quickly? I experienced the same with my own setup—it was the power supply that caused the issue. Have you tried installing the old graphics card to test if it boots?
