CS doesn't face a major cheating issue at the moment. Problems started long before version 1.5 was even released. It's a skill-based game with no pay-to-win mechanics. Success depends on knowing the maps and having good aim. Many players cheat just to feel better after a bad night. Also, a lot of people use multiple accounts because of cheap prices during Steam sales. Teaming up in casual play won't fix the lack of skill over time. Practice in Deathmatch helps sharpen your aim and avoid becoming the weakest link on your team if you're not playing regularly. CS is one of the most challenging FPS games to master. Constantly dying or getting one-shot can discourage many players, causing them to quit within a week. Plus, the toxic community can push you out faster.
