I'm just not getting it. Since the release, I've been avoiding that stuff. The only reason I'm using it is because I got a new PC last year before Coffee Lake, and even with Generation 2 ISOs, I couldn't run Windows 7 smoothly. Now I'm on LTSB 1607. God bless this version—I tried the LTSC 1809 but hated it. It's still technically LTSB, but it already has some issues from this latest release. F*** you MS, Cortana, Edge, Store, Xbox App, and all that nonsense. My desktop isn't a tablet or an ultrabook. I want to go to Microsoft's headquarters and yell this message at Satya Nadella.

I'm using Windows 8.1 on my computer. I prefer it over Windows 7 because it runs much faster. And definitely, I steer clear of Windows 10 completely. It has so many issues and glitches that really bother me. For my laptop, I moved to a MacBook since I can't handle any Windows version for a laptop. macOS is great—great gestures and all.

I'm thinking about getting a frontend tool to build things. Maybe I'll go back to Win8.1 later. Still planning to install seven again. Updates don't bother me—I know Microsoft keeps releasing security patches. Plus, my GPU looks good now.

The measures they’re implementing involve security patches, according to what I understand.

believe me or not, I managed once to install it with gen2 isos that use Win10 bat files as base. But on cinebench, my 7700k instead of the common 970 points, droped to almost 700 or even 600.

Linux is my choice. Honor that system. (And its free version)

I enjoy Linux, but gaming isn't its strongest suit—this is why I stick with 8.1...

That’s understandable. Since you rely on a server as your primary system, a quick reboot to switch to Windows for gaming isn’t ideal. My experience shows that a 1-minute restart is manageable, while a 5-minute reboot can be frustrating. Dual-booting might not be the best fit for most Linux users.

Windows 10 works just fine. I learned how to delete, remove, uninstall, and run regedit to clear out all the unwanted items. It’s strange why there isn’t a simpler method to wipe out all the default live tabs on the start menu except deleting them one by one. At work, Windows 10 is even more convenient because I don’t have to waste mental energy checking for updates... someone else spends time verifying each patch and update. It seems the enterprise versions offer much finer control. Honestly, reverting to the old Windows update system would likely reduce the complaints by about 80%. I now postpone every update for at least a month to let news and tech site reports catch up.
