This actually started happing today.
When i hold down any button for a couple of seconds it stops and the button does not work for a couple of seconds.
Example of how long i can hold it down:

Initially determine whether the problem lies with the keyboard or the computer, then try testing it on another system. Any differences in behavior since it was functioning normally? Driver update? Installed a new software? Checked for Windows updates?

I spotted the issue. The keyboard was just cheap and I replaced it, everything is fine now.
