Computer specifications include a Ryzen 5600X processor, a 3070 Ti GPU, an MSI B550 Pro motherboard, 16GB dual RAM in RAM slots, and a 650W power supply. The system initially powered on with RGB lighting and all fans running. However, assembling it into the case caused issues—no power at all. After removing the PSU and trying without the GPU, it worked temporarily. When the PSU was turned off again, the system booted normally but then cut out completely. The user suspects a CMOS issue or a faulty PSU, possibly related to the motherboard's CMOS. They are unsure whether to check the CMOS settings or replace the power supply.

It might be a bad PSU, possibly struggling under higher power demands. I’d attempt to replace it with another power supply and check if the device starts up.

The system has power.. PSU's tend to be all or nothing... But there's always an exception to the rule. The system has power, so the PSU should be fine. PSU's tend to be all or nothing... If there's a PSU fault you should "should" hear a click when it shuts down from an electrical fault.. If the PSU failed you may smell burnt electronics by putting your nose to the exhaust vents... I mean no disrespect but it's hard to understand your problem.. Sounds like the system booted without a GPU and you get a black screen with it plugged in? It ran for a few minutes then turned off? That sounds like a protect fault.. My best guess and this is probably way off, if you have an electrical problem.. A ground? a bad connection?

I chose to file an RMA with Antec. They asked me to remove the 24-pin connector, snap a photo of it, and remove the warranty sticker. I explained that I had managed to turn on my computer briefly before leaving, but when I returned it was completely off and couldn’t restart. I mentioned I could power on my system with about 650 watts, and on PCPartPicker it showed an estimated 469 watts—uncertain what it meant, but I thought it would void the warranty. I did some research on PSU resets; I powered down the unit, unplugged it for an hour, then reconnected everything except the GPU. It started up, but after a couple minutes it shut off again and failed to restart. This was similar to my first attempt without the GPU. Based on what I tried, it seems the PSU might be faulty. Everything else appeared to be connected properly. The worst part was that I also had a failing motherboard, so I had to return it for an RMA. I replaced another PSU just to confirm compatibility, but it didn’t work with my CPU even though the box advertised a 5000 series model and flash BIOS update was correct. I tested everything with the CPU installed—no power at all—but when the CPU was removed, power came back. It’s frustrating because it took a month to resolve this. My motherboard functioned correctly with the CPU, and my GPU had RGB lighting. Later, after drinking, I returned to another PSU issue, which made things worse. I’m hoping online retailers can help, as it might take about two weeks for everything to be fixed again.

I’ll purchase another PSU suited for my GPU and get my Antec PSU RMA, then list it on eBay. On PCPartPicker my system’s estimated power draw is 469W—seems like a solid amount! Probably around 650W, which should comfortably handle it, though I’m aware there might be some issues later.
