Many solutions were reduced to one-third of their size. Keep checking the monitor both up and down; it’s still moving across the screen. This happened with the standard driver, while Mate didn’t experience the same problem. Curious about why KDE made this change?

I'm using version 5.20 of KDE Plasma on Ubuntu 22.04. This will help us check for relevant bug reports regarding monitor resolution issues.

I'm back on Mate again. I thought about upgrading and bought the one that fixed the issue.

I configured a test Manjaro system with the Mate Community Edition in a VM, added KDE Desktop, and encountered the problem when trying to replicate it. I can verify the issue on physical hardware. Does your setup use Intel, AMD, or an NVIDIA GPU?

Generic drivers often lead to compatibility problems in KDE while working smoothly with other platforms. This discrepancy can stem from differences in how each environment handles hardware support and updates.

KDE operates mostly using hardware acceleration except in certain cases. On AMD systems, the AMD GPU driver is essential for working with Mesa and OpenGL.

I also required the Nvidia driver. Excuse me when I mentioned AMD/Nvudia—it was the processor/GPU I had.

Generally yes, though it also relies on your GPU model. Devices from the last 10 generations typically support the newest drivers.

Absolutely, you're right. That specific version requires installing Pacman with the NVIDIA package.
