I made a similar DVD last time. I think I encountered issues before, but I’m not sure what I did to fix it. The error says the OS X El Capitan app can’t run from this disk—recommend copying it to a writable Mac OS Extended drive and restarting. It seems to work fine with other formats, like deleting Macintosh HD in journaled mode. I’m not finding much guidance online, so I’m stuck.

I fixed it! I saved my DVD image to a USB drive and then used it with the USB. It functioned perfectly. Now I have an old Mac that works as a Zoom computer temporarily. If it becomes outdated, I might install Linux instead.

If things get tough, you can install Linux. I did this for someone who's a bit older a few days back. It's simple if you remember the right method. Press the Options key while the system starts, power on, and maintain your finger in that position until it completes the boot process.
