Hello everyone, I'm trying to bring my old Dell Optiplex gx620 back to its original state but don't have the Dell restore disk. I need an ISO for Windows XP Home Edition, though I have the valid key on the case label. I've searched online but haven't found it anywhere, except a Service Pack 3 disk image from Microsoft that doesn't include an ISO. If I can't get an ISO, could someone guide me on creating a bootable USB or CD for XP Home? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

No one had a home, which is why there isn't an ISO available. You might be able to purchase a DVD on eBay.

You should definitely include Vista. XP support has been discontinued for a long time.

Get the file from Microsoft here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/...x?id=25129 This isn’t 100% certain if it’s Home Edition; it’s Pro. You can download Microsoft XP Home Edition from CNET here: http://download.cnet.com/topics/microsof...me-edition no promises but only the info I found. Create a bootable USB using Microsoft’s tool at http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msus...vd_dwnTool – the USB tool supports any ISO, just labeled as Win7.

That's the pro edition, he requires a home setup.

But it's not like that. It pushes you to buy it and then takes you straight to the MS store, which doesn't carry XP anymore.

That was the top result I could locate, D. Really frustrating with CNET money scams!

It seems the system recognizes XP Home Edition but has XP Professional SP3 installed. Using a Home Edition product key with an SP3 ISO might not work as intended.

Currently, the installed version is likely cracked or was upgraded using a professional key long ago.
