I am so incredibly furious about this bullshit in the game that I uninstalled it after having spent a very enjoyable 30 hours in the game. There is a mission in which your objective is to eliminate militants in a town (the militants are kids) and yet you can't shoot/kill the kids without the mission instantly failing despite it being your objective to kill them. It gets worse when you get into a bossfight and all of the kids shoot at you yet if you shoot back, you're the immoral one and you instantly fail the mission. I fucking hate it when games try to teach me real life morals as if they apply to video games and some pixels on a screen are somehow more valuable than others and people can't be killed. They expect you to either run from the bullets or put the kids to sleep using your tranquilizer gun, meanwhile they're shooting at you with AKs. Until somebody makes a mod to fix this issue, this game will remain uninstalled which makes me very sad as I was really enjoying the game up until this point. edit: Oh, and I forgot to mention that you can't fulton extract the kids either so you only have two options. 1. try and sneak past all of the kids without them noticing you. 2. Individually subdue every single one of them with the tranquilizer and try and put the bodies somewhere where they won't be seen.
I immediately start doubting your intentions. That’s what everyone else says for sure.
A game that tells you something interesting! 😊 What kind of game are you looking for?
It's a video game. Do you want to challenge the kids? Why can't I? Unless it's part of a mission goal—which seems unnecessary based on what you said—that feels really silly.
Infinity Ward faced some criticism after a scenario in MW2 where players entered an airport as terrorists and killed everyone, which could harm the game's reputation if players were pressured or incentivized to harm civilians.
It’s because the game clearly defines that goal as its main purpose. Their shooting style with AKs makes them equally dangerous as any other character. I really hate when games impose moral rules in a fictional setting where real harm isn’t possible. It brings back memories of Skyrim, where killing children was simply a game mechanic—just numbers on the screen with no deeper meaning.
What's this?! STEALTH! IN A FUCKING STEALTH GAME!?!? Uninstall!!!! *flips table* Grow up lol
That particular situation in the game is a slippery slope. I'm not trying to say one way or another, so don't get me wrong. I understand the point of view of wanting to be able to kill the kids, especially in that situation. At the same time, we already have enough SJW bullshit in the media that gives gamers this image of being rapists and potential murderers and whatnot, so lets not add more fuel to the fire.
