Okay so a bit of back story I setting up a printer and while moving back and forth between my laptop and printer my leg hooked the ethernet cord and it fell and instantly came off. This is my laptop that has all of my uni work and emails so any help and suggestions will be much appreciated. I'm at work as the time of this post. When I go home I will attempt to reset the ram and unplug and replug the battery. The laptop has charge but when I press the power button there are no lights or anything. Update: im home and opened my system up everything seems to be in place, however, when I plug in the charger the charging light doesn't come on. Any suggestions I made this post on reddit earlier today and didn't get many responses I've come here seeking help. I reseated my nvme ssd, plugged out the battery for 40s and repluged it, and reseated the ribbon cable that connects the mobo to my keyboard. The drop was give or take 3ft and it landed on the ethernet cable.
It seems like a part might have been damaged or dislodged, or perhaps a cable came loose and needs repositioning. Without further inspection, it's hard to pinpoint the exact problem. In the worst case, if everything is faulty, you could safely remove the drive and transfer vital data. Regular backups can really help in such situations.
