I'm really thrilled! I found out Microsoft was giving a discount, so I considered getting an Asus Transformer Book T300Chi. I'm weighing whether to get a Windows 7 Ultimate key for the tablet or stick with the OEM Windows 8.1, which has had some stability problems. I really enjoy Windows 8.1 but don't want to risk damaging my SSD by reinstalling it multiple times. What do you think? Also, what are your thoughts on the tablet? I'm looking forward to testing the new Intel Core M and its built-in GPU, which is definitely an upgrade from my current Windows tablet, the HP Stream 7 I bought for $30 on Amazon after using a gift card.

I prefer version 8.1, it works at my Dell Venue 8 Pro. Otherwise, go with Windows 10.

You're referring to problems with consistency or reliability. It seems the issue wasn't resolved on your system.

I believe you're stuck with 8...7 which doesn't really work well for tablet PCs.

It would be best to maintain version 8.1. The newer OS seems more suitable.

If I were you, I’d obtain a pristine version of Windows 8.1, get the ISO key from your tablet, and then format and install the clean copy.

I don't know if Microsoft signature edition PCs include the OEM Windows install or a modified version without bloatware.

Generally, any pre-built PC you purchase comes with unnecessary software and clutter. The Lenovo incident is a good example of this. When clients buy new computers, I always reset them and install a fresh version.

I fully understand your point! The main challenge here is that the OEM key doesn<|pad|> to work on Win 8 Upgrade Assistant, but you only have a USB install for Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit.
