CPU: Ryzen 5 2600
CPU cooler: AMD Wraith Stealth Cooler
Motherboard: ASRock B450 Pro4
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2x16gb 3200MHz
Storage: Boot drive - CT250MX500SSD1, Secondary Drive - WDC WD40EzRz-00GXCB0
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT
Power supply: Fractal ION Gold 850W (Modular)
Operating system: Windows 11

I recently acquired a new WiFi adapter (Archer TX50E) to replace my previous one (Wireless N Express Adapter). After installation, some games would freeze intermittently. Resetting the graphics driver resolved the issue, but it recurs every 15–45 seconds. Games affected include Factorio, Sea of Thieves, and Phasmaphobia. Games I tested without issues are For Honor and Helldivers 2. I checked the game files for errors and found none. I tried various fixes: uninstalling/reinstalling the graphics driver, removing and reinstalling the adapter software, updating BIOS on the motherboard, and even using a different PCIe slot. Additionally, disabling the WiFi part of the Archer TX50E stopped the freezes.

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
Motherboard: ASRock B450 Pro4
Updating my motherboard BIOS
For clarity, please state your current BIOS version for this moment.
Operating System: Windows 11
Are you using version 24H2?
I recently installed a new WiFi Adapter (Archer TX50E) to replace my previous one (Wireless N Express Adapter).
Have you removed the old device from Device Manager and uninstalled its drivers in Control Panel before switching to the TP-Link adapter? Speaking of TP-Link, they are known for offering several revisions of the same product. Did you verify your device’s version against their support site?
Another option is to install the driver directly instead of using the GUI. I faced a similar problem with earlier TP-Link adapters and Windows 10—while the GUI caused issues, the drivers worked fine. I discovered this through experience.

It is said that the Archer TX50E employs the identical chipset as the Intel AX200, known for this particular problem.

Check if you can put in an Intel WiFi driver for Archer TX50E.

Updated the bios to the latest beta version L8.02.
Running Windows 11 24H2 without activation.
Initially overlooked uninstalling old drivers, but re-installed via device manager.
Currently using the correct drivers from TP-link download centre; selected "Archer TX50E" with drivers from 2025-07-04.
Clarification needed on installing without GUI—do drivers come with a GUI? Would AMD Adrenalin be similar?
For more details, should I edit the original post or reply here?
Please let me know if you require further clarification.

I had to reinstall Windows and it resolved my issue. I was trying to skip it but wasn’t sure of other options. Thanks for the help!
