3 days ago I upgraded my old i5 7400 to a Ryzen 5 5600. I performed a fresh Windows 11 install and uploaded my apps and games. On the first day everything worked well, all games ran smoothly. The next day the games would close unexpectedly—still no crashes, just abrupt exits. This happened with every title (CSGO, R6, The Sims 4, Battlefield V, Division 2). Warzone and BF 2042 displayed a DirectX error. I tried disabling XMP settings, reinstalling games and GPU drives, ran Cinebench to check CPU performance (normal), performed GPU benchmarks (all good), used Windows Memory Diagnostic (no issues), added my old RAM sticks (no change). Temperatures stayed normal: CPU 34°C idle, 55°C gaming, GPU 40°C idle, 70-75°C during games. I’m unsure what to do now. The system runs smoothly overall; I can use VSCode without problems. My second monitor keeps playing Spotify or YouTube, but the game still closes. Anyone experienced with similar issues? Here’s my setup: Ryzen 5 5600 B550M Aorus Elite 2x8GB Corsair vantage 3200mhz GTX 1060 6GB (sorry, spelling mistakes, English isn’t my first language).

Considering the details, is the RAM officially marked for use with Ryzen processors? Is there any indication on the packaging—whether new or used—that specifies compatibility? I experienced a similar situation where the kit I received had two different SKUs; one was certified for Ryzen, the other wasn't. I ended up getting the non-certified one, which led to video driver issues even though memory tests passed and GPU performance dropped significantly, especially in Furmark benchmarks. You might attempt to test with a single stick of RAM, but this won’t guarantee it’s safe.

The instructions mention Ryzen compatibility, but I encountered the same issue when using a single stick, especially in games.

It might be related to driver problems. Consider performing a fresh installation of all your drivers. Also, install HWMonitor to monitor temperatures, voltage, and power usage while running games.

Verify if the Event Log records driver faults matching your game shutdown times. If yes, I'm open to the possibility it's the same problem I've faced. A fellow user with a Ryzen setup might be able to lend me a stick for testing. You could also attempt to turn on Above 4G decoding if you haven't done so already—it appeared to improve stability for me.

I performed a fresh setup on every driver and it didn’t fix the issues with R6 and The Sims 4. I’m considering reverting to Windows 10 to check if that resolves the problem.

Event Log records a critical issue on Kernel-Power and multiple errors across various components. Several applications are affected, including the one on Intel systems.
