I recently attempted to purchase 10 random Steam keys.
I recently attempted to purchase ten random Steam key packs for about $2 off G2A to test their quality. Most of them turned out to be low-quality, but a few offered decent value: Two Worlds Epic Edition (which I had played many times before), Enclave (an RPG that feels a bit dated yet playable), Iron Sky (a space ship battle game that hasn’t been played, though it’s listed at €20 on Steam so I got it for free), Dream Pinball 3D (which is really disappointing), Earth 2160 Jagged Alliance 2 - Wildfire Knights, and Merchants Pirates of Black Cove Gold. All these games are essentially worthless. World War II: Panzer Claws was the only one that seemed promising. It’s worth considering since it gave me ten keys for just $2, and there are also cheaper options like a single key for $1.50. However, given how many poor-quality games exist on Steam and the slim chance of getting something valuable, it might not be worth the effort. EDIT: Also, you won’t know which key corresponds to which game unless you activate it, and once activated it goes straight into your library—so you can’t give it away without knowing what you’re giving. You could potentially give away a key, but there’s no guarantee of what game it belongs to.
It's not surprising to find low-quality games after buying many keys.
They purchase small packs at 0.5 cents each from G2A and trade them in that way.
I tried it as a test since it was very affordable, hoping to tell others who might be interested. I didn’t expect much, but for just $2 it felt worthwhile.
Dude, you crushed Earth with a score of 2160, following up on the top RTS game ever, Earth 2150. Earth 2150 was also called Earth 2150: Escape from the Blue Planet. It came with two expansions—Earth 2150: The Moon Project and Earth 2150: Lost Souls. I played those until my hands were raw. Such great games!
I might give it a shot once I finish the games I’m currently playing. I wasn’t familiar with these before, so I thought they were just another typical RTS. After watching that video, I have to admit I’m convinced. I had no idea duplicates could be an issue, so I guess I was lucky. Having duplicates really makes it not worth the effort.
Tried the test and found 20 random titles to check if bundles varied much. Oddly, no doubles appeared. These are listed with their Steam store prices and review ratings: $0.90- Very Positive - Knights and Merchants $4.99 Mixed Earth 2160 No Store Page Pirates of Black Cove Gold $0.99 Mostly Positive Planets Under Attack $9.99 Mixed Two Worlds Epic Edition $4.99 Mixed Worlds War II: Panzer Claws $6.99 Mostly Negative Dream Pinball 3D $4.99 Mostly Positive Enclave $19.99 Mixed Iron Sky $6.99 Mixed Jagged Alliance 2 Wildfire Early Access $9.99 Mostly Positive Pressure $9.99 Mixed 3SwitcheD $6.99 Mixed Chicken Shoot Gold $19.99 Commander : Conquest of the Americas Gold $4.99 Mixed Earth 2140 $19.99 Mixed Two Worlds 2 Comp $4.99 Mostly Positive Gorky 17 $4.99 Mostly Negative Heli Heroes $4.99 Mixed Jack Orlando Paid: $5.00 Steam value: $147.73 (I understand you can often get these games cheaper or for free, but I’m just noting the current prices.) I picked a few to try and some I’ll skip, it adds up but now my library’s a bit cluttered. You could say it was a waste of time, but spending $5 feels like a small treat—like a taco bell meal, not a huge loss.)
