Hi there, forum members. I bought a Z flip 5 about a month ago after it arrived, and everything seemed okay. But when I checked it out, I realized it wasn’t the right size for me. As someone smaller with delicate hands, I needed something compact and not too wide. On August 26th, Samsung said they’d received my return and thought that was enough. I didn’t hear back afterward and kept worrying, thinking maybe it would take time. Recently, I got an email from Klarna saying I originally intended to pay for the phone—not from Samsung. They mentioned in a screenshot that my return showed I hadn’t sent back the correct model, which is not very acceptable since I had packed it carefully and kept everything in its original box. When I opened the package, I was unsure and hesitated to send it back, but Samsung support reassured me a returned item is okay if it wasn’t mishandled—especially since it was in perfect condition. They said I could keep the device if I inspected it myself. However, they insisted the wrong model was returned, which is not true. Now I’m being asked to pay for the phone again, and I don’t have much money left. I’ve reached out to support through emails, but it feels like I’m at their mercy. I really need advice and help with this situation. Thanks for your time.

It seems like a fraudulent scheme. Request a photo of the incorrectly returned item. If it isn’t the correct device, hand it over to the authorities; the other one won’t have your fingerprints on it, which would confirm it never belonged to you.

It would be difficult to accept that Samsung could carry out such actions. It seems unlikely for a single employee to engage in wrongdoing at any point, whether during shipping or after the item arrives at Samsung.

many devices have issues, likely someone upgraded their phone. if it isn’t the one you sent back, report it to the authorities since fingerprints won’t be there. the IMEI should connect to a different number linked with the FLIP 5 model. police can also retrieve which numbers are using that IMEI now.

I assure you they won’t bother collecting fingerprints for a phone return dispute. Beyond that, it’s a case of him says she says—it hinges on your local regulations about who holds the proof.

It's conceivable it was a harmless error and the wrong order was marked as returned, as this type of issue frequently occurs in big stores. Always capture photos or videos before handling a package. When preparing an item for return, make sure you're familiar with your payment option and understand buyer protection policies. In situations where PayPal is used, they often step in to assist the buyer and resolve matters swiftly.

The IMEI can still be monitored. However, if they have the case, it should be marked on the exterior for easy identification.

it remains OP's claim regarding Samsung/Klarna's description of the phone inside. actually, it seems the IMEI might have been mixed up during the transaction, and they now anticipate receiving the incorrect IMEI.

Klarna is the official payment partner in the UK for Samsung, handling installment payments instead of full payments. Previously, they managed their own financing options, but now they rely on Klarna for this service.
