What standards were used? It seems none focused on streaming speed. That would outperform the i5 yet cost significantly more. If possible, I’d suggest sending back the upgrades and reverting to the 1600. The maximum turbo doesn’t work for all cores simultaneously, so a lower base clock still counts.

Others mentioned it wasn't an improvement. If you're using the old setup and need a real upgrade, consider a Ryzen 5 3600X. Also, remove one of the 1070 Ti cards—SLI is largely outdated. Most games only use one card, and those that require both often encounter issues.

Alternatively, revert to an older Ryzen setup for improved performance or upgrade to a newer CPU with at least 12 threads. The SLI GPU configuration isn't ideal due to limited modern support. A dedicated single GPU is preferable. You might sell the existing 1070ti and purchase a more powerful model like the 2080 Super, or opt to sell both and invest in a better unit. 20/20 looking back: Upgrading the Ryzen CPU to a newer generation with more cores and threads would have been wiser, and selling the old one could fund a better upgrade. Also, consider reallocating your budget from RAM to a stronger Intel processor instead.

Turbo boosts don't always deliver the promised performance, and they don't work for every core speed. The Ryzen 5 1600 starts at a base frequency of 3.2GHz, offering better efficiency thanks to its higher IPC compared to the 2.9GHz i5 9400F.
