Checking if it's standard, the question is whether MHz equals MT/s. Your setup looks solid: Ryzen 7 3800X, 8 cores, B550M DDR3, RTX 3050 with 8GB RAM at 3600MHz. Your specs suggest good performance for the price.

No, I didn't turn XMP/EXPO on in the BIOS.

Checked profile 1 at 3600mhz showing 2400mts. Tested profile 2 at 3000mhz which works at 3000mt/s. It seems profile 2 might be the better option unless someone else has a fix. I’m considering manually adjusting all BIOS settings, though that could be dangerous.

Are there just two sticks in your setup? If not, what are the speeds of the remaining ones? If there are none, which positions are they in relative to the CPU?

Ensure your system profile is current. If it was old, refresh and try again. On Ryzen processors, the memory controller resides on the CPU, meaning you might still achieve 3600 even after upgrading to a 3800X if your CPU supports it.

The spec sheet lists 3200 MT/s, while the motherboard supports it at 3200 MT/s without overclocking. You can access the overclocking settings and see if the board offers a faster memory speed. If it doesn’t exceed 3200, you’ll need to perform the overclocking manually.

Begin by skipping Task Manager; it doesn't give accurate RAM readings. Opt for CPU-Z and check the Memory section.

This has been around for a while. It consistently works across different versions like Win10, Windows 11, CPU-Z, and HWInfo64. It seems to be more reliable for Ryzen 3 models than higher-end CPUs, with a realistic cap around 3200 MHz for most chips.

It seems the RAM might be faulty if it doesn't operate at the claimed 3600MHz. The Matisse IMX is already problematic, but achieving over 3733 MHz in 1:1 clock frequency could be mere coincidence. It likely isn't a CPU issue unless you completely lost the chip. You can verify by resetting the XMP to 3600 and adjusting the clock to desync or half speed to check functionality.

It has been happening for a long time, though it only occurs occasionally. Still, double-check that it isn<|pad|> or something else. This applies to other task manager stats too—like CPU clock or GPU usage. Yes, I anticipate some challenges managing dual rank at that pace, but we'll tackle one thing at a time.
