I purchased a new Gskill Ripjaws V 8gb Ddr4 3200mhz 1.35V desktop RAM today. My upcoming prebuilt PC will arrive next month, so I can't test it until then. My build uses an AMD Ryzen 5 3400g, but the RAM box indicates Intel support for its core. The RAM model is F4-3200C16S-8GVKB, and it supports Intel XMP 2.0. Can anyone confirm if this RAM would work with my AMD system?

For optimal performance, match the RAM speed with what’s already installed. If the existing module is 3000MHz, choose a compatible speed.

Big error, since you’re unsure if that stick is dead when it arrives. By the time you can test it, you won’t be able to return it, and you’ll have to go through longer warranty processes. But that’s just bad timing. I guess it should still work because Ryzen also uses DDR4. You don’t need to worry about what the packaging says about compatibility—it’s better to check the generations used by the CPU and board. The only exception is with some prebuilt units, which sometimes include extra chips for their own RAM. In that case, look up their Qualified Vendors List for approved RAM options.

The built-in RAM includes 8GB of single-channel memory. That’s why I chose it last week after finding a RAM pack on Amazon for a much lower price. My only concern was the Intel core support label.

I own four 16GB GSKILL CL16 cards at 3600 MHz, along with Intel XMP 2.0 enabled drives, and they function flawlessly with my Ryzen 5 3600 and MSI X570 Tomahawk.

Ideally you should look for Ryzen support instead of Intel XMP. The Intel CPUs will function, but there could be problems with overclocking or XMP features.
