I attended an auction and initially believed I was purchasing two empty Netshelter Server racks. It wasn't until I transported them to my warehouse that I discovered they contained Advanced Clustering Technologies cluster servers and storage systems, along with Mellanox infiswitch and Netgear switch. I reached out to ACT, who informed me they were aware of the racks. Although they are two years old and unused, the customer had paid them a significant amount for the system. Anyone interested? What can I do with this?

Offer them a price higher than what you received.

Perform a thorough inventory of each model and serial number. Record all cable types, optical components, etc. Selling them in parts will expedite the process. Costs associated with production users might discourage using them in clusters.

I've attended numerous auctions myself, so it's clear who tends to skip checking the items they plan to bid on. If you had done that, you'd have understood exactly what you were offering before placing your first bid.

Online auction listing. The description was brand new in the Netshelter server rack box, exactly what I needed. I only spent a few hundred dollars. Just a bit of luck.

By the way, my son is a submariner. He’s currently aboard the USS Rhode Island out of King's Bay. Go Navy!
