Absolutely, I'm not in any pain about a PC.

For most people it's a fair amount of money, considering the computers you're using are fairly old and you've managed to get by. Fifty dollars isn't much in that situation. It's more about a beginner project. If it's just a hobby, you probably wouldn't want those premium boards because they could damage the BIOS and destroy parts. The high-end boards often let you adjust voltages too high, which can actually harm your components. My Gigabyte EP45 DS4P lets me set the CPU voltage up to 2.3V, something I don’t really understand why it would allow. Even with that setting, there’s no warning if it’s too high, and most of the time they won’t let you change anything beyond basic info like date, time, and boot order. If you accidentally set it wrong, the PC might not start at all, which is a big problem. Manufacturers usually don’t let you adjust voltages that could damage hardware unless you’re using a voltmeter. In most cases, OEMs only offer very simple settings—just date, time, and boot sequence—and they rarely let you change anything else.

You seem to be quite young, isn't it? That's interesting.

Typically, when you have that amount of cash, you're likely already in your 30s or 40s.

It's funny how the 30s started feeling like a more mature stage. Yeah, I see what you mean. In reality, I feel like I'm getting older too. Agreed... and honestly, even my knees agree with me.

30s is actually not that old, id consider 40s and up to be pretty old, actually i think my parents used to be quite succesful earlier in life in their early 30s but at some point they seem to have run out of money or something, i think it was ~2012 considering that they bought a pretty crappy house and before that we were just traveling around the world, though i dont remember much cause in 2012 i was like 5 years old xD Actually they did tell me later that it was something along the lines of combination of bad money management and overspending on lifestyle stuff For pcs i have a testbench that i screw around with, just waiting on a pump to finish my ghetto loop Better hope i start making content soon cause i wanna milk my age advantage since most 14 year olds dont go screwing around with rather extreme overclocks and build stupid sht like a ghetto loop out of reused car and aquarium parts, especially not screwing around with garbage like voltmodding (physical mods to the board for better volt range or adjust volt on the fly), unfortunately gonna turn 15 next month but maybe i can still milk my age for content xD

I’m tired of the same routine, spending roughly the same budget on Core2 overclocking gear when inspiration strikes. I’m swapping out a few parts—a fresh radiator, some budget coolers, maybe a dusty 780 Ti—so it all adds up fast. Right now I’ve got eight PCs in my workshop, ranging from older Athlon XP models to high-end 775 series units, all still functional in different ways. These machines power our “Classic LAN” gatherings before the pandemic changed everything.

Just imagine the worst could happen! Your parents might be struggling financially and not even own a home, right? Always try to see the positive side and now I understand why you think $150 is a lot of money—you're just 14, after all! That's cool. Keep learning, brother, and let me know when the YouTube channel is ready so we can link!
