I plan to perform some overclocking.
I really don’t understand what it would be like if I wanted to overclock anything. I’m trying to make sure everything runs smoothly without damaging my parts. I’m looking for advice on where to begin. If you click on my signature, you’ll see my specs; if you need more details, I’ll share them.
Initially, I turned on axmp for RAM and noticed the CPU was running at default or overclocked levels. The temperature reading was 60°C during idle, which seems too high—should have checked the cooler.
Maybe I applied too much thermal paste to the CPU, which could explain why the temperature monitor shows 30 while the CPU Z ID indicates 60 or higher.
I'm seeing that after clicking "validate," the temp rises to 63 degrees and then quickly returns to 30-35.
I would inspect the cooler seams more closely to detect any movement as fans increase speed, which can cause the CPU to heat up and also activate the fan located inside the case.
Also a lot of paste was used when I removed the cooler cpu. It was taken out using alcohol wipes and then re-applied in smaller amounts. The other fans, model 3, came with the Rosewill Challenger case, which is 120mm. Two of them are coolers from my old H212 Evo, and another one I ordered is also a 120mm cooler master.
