No, you don’t need a central internet subscription to use the router. Set it up by connecting your Ethernet cable directly to the router and following the instructions for gaming performance.

It could be used on an internal network. You might also work with other DSL suppliers by adjusting the PPPoE configuration in the settings. The WAN connection remains limited to DSL only.

You already have a media-com modem and router, so you can connect it to it. Just don’t know the exact steps yet.

They seem to be distinct physical spots. It might be simpler to connect it directly to your PC.
