You want your monitor to automatically switch between headphone and speaker audio without needing to manually connect or disconnect. You’ll need to adjust the audio routing settings in your system or device. Check the manufacturer’s instructions for your monitor and sound card, as they may guide you through changing the output source or using a dedicated button switch. If possible, look for a feature that lets you toggle between inputs via a simple button press.

It depends on your monitor; just get another one with its own speakers.

My monitor has built-in speakers and a button that controls everything, so I usually disconnect my headphones. But I’m hoping this new feature will let me use them without unplugging anything.

You should adjust your default audio source in the Playback Devices area.

There isn't a feature that lets you quickly switch all auto sources to a different speaker with a single button press.
