Hello,
I adjusted my i5-6600k to overclock to 4.7GHz at 1.29v and LLC5. When running prime95 overnight, everything stayed stable. I didn’t lower the voltage but experimented with 4.4GHz at 1.17v in BIOS. After an hour of testing and a full night of AIDA64 (6 hours), the process remained steady with voltage fluctuating between 1.168 and 1.184. Am I making a mistake or is this just luck?

these tests are just for a short time, around an hour, so they don’t fully mimic real-world conditions. If it works well after an hour and continues running, you can be confident in its stability. What purpose are you giving the CPU, and what temperatures are being recorded? 57°C maximum?

Maybe just a little lucky, but I didn't reach 4,7... though I managed to set the voltage on auto.

BringerOfTea had a bit of luck, but didn't hit 4,7... still managed to set voltage on auto. Tonight I'm testing how low I can go with 4.7ghz and what stress tests my CPU should be using, especially since this is my first overclocking attempt.

these tests are just for a short period, around an hour, which makes them a bit artificial since real usage wouldn't match. If it works well after an hour and continues running, you can be confident in its stability. What are you using the CPU for, and what temperatures are being recorded? 57°C maximum.

Cooler isn't the top choice, but the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO is a solid option. The 57°C reached its peak during the 6-hour test. Using stock paste and fan on the cooler works well.

That's fine, I'm looking for a clock that's reliable and quiet. Is your setup intended for gaming?

BringerOfTea says it's fine, they'd prefer a stable and cool clock. Are you using this rig for gaming? Yes, mostly for Battlefield 4 & 1, Black Ops 3, and Grim Dawn. They own an ROG Strix RX 480 with 8GB 3200mhz Trident Z RAM and plan to add more RAM later.
