I overclocked my GPU and my laptop crashed. What should I do?
My laptop specs
acer nitro 5
i5-7300HQ
gtx 1050ti
8gb ram
1tb hdd
Windows 10
I attempted to overclock my GPU with MSI Afterburner... and I'm just starting out. I found a tutorial on YouTube and followed it.
I just set my core clock to 40, but the laptop shut off.
After restarting, I changed the afterburner settings back to default.
Now, when I play games like AC Odyssey or Fallout 4, the FPS is below 10.
But in Task Manager, CPU, GPU, and disk usage are stable.
I tried updating the Nvidia driver, increased pagefiles, and changed battery settings to default.
Still nothing works.
Can you help me!? 😊
Thanks in advance
I can't send you a picture directly. However, I can describe what MSI afterburner typically looks like for your setup. It usually shows a clock interface with fan speeds and temperatures displayed. Let me know if you'd like more details about its appearance or performance.
there were no issues
the GPU got extremely hot, causing it to throttle heavily. the fan wasn’t working, which is why it didn’t fail completely—otherwise it might have melted, haha
