Windows 7 is fully functional for all my needs, though I prefer the newest Ubuntu version.

My preferred operating system is Windows 8.1 (pro), which I rely on every day, but I also use Ubuntu for my older 6-year-old PC. I've also experimented with MacOS, though I don't really enjoy it.

I use Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit on my laptop (8560w) and desktop, Vista on my Thinkpad, and Windows 7 on the DM3 for general use. I also have an external drive running FreeBSD, Kali Linux, and Ubuntu across all devices. My top choices are Windows Vista alongside OSX 10.10 and Ubuntu 10.04. While I’d love to have access to all of them, support is limited.

I'm running ElementaryOS on my primary machine, while my workstation uses Windows 8.1 Pro.

It seems like you're feeling a bit frustrated. Your dad recently moved to Windows 7, and you're not happy about the lack of certain features in it. It's like he's stuck with an older version that doesn't have all the handy options you're used to.

It's not entirely bug-free.
