I now prefer using Windows 10 on my Mac.
A few days ago I wrote a post about my dislike of Windows on my MacBook Air but that was mostly just my dislike of the trackpad drivers. Today I plugged it in like a desktop and started up a game of league. It had some unusual network lag spikes but did much better with graphics than when i'm using Mac OS. Windows 10 is very snappy it feels and I actually really like the way everything is laid out. I hated Windows 8 because it was forcing you to use it in a touchscreen focused mode on desktops so I stuck with Windows 7 but with 10 it's like a mix between the two. Nothing is HARDER to get to like it was on 8 very thankfully. I did notice some things left over from the terrible windows 8 and forced touchscreen mode like how most of the settings are in control panel but to get to any of the real settings you had to go into the menu then press the link to the "advanced" settings which opened a windows 7 style settings menu (like for mouse settings). That's my general thoughts on the OS but here's what I though about using it on a Mac. When I got into a game the fan speed sped right up and didn't go down from there. This is a slight problem because it was very loud. I'm hoping to look inside and possibly replace the thermal paste because most laptops don't come with a good about (too much) and dust it out. I can also turn the speed down to a acceptable noise level with the CPU only going to 94 degrees instead of 88 which I'm still contemplating whether it's worth it or not. When I have a monitor, mouse, keyboard, and speakers plugged into it, it feels very similar to using my desktop; not too much slower like I thought it would be. This all might change as I start to install more programs because it's a pretty fresh install right now. This is just a ramble of mine so yah, not much point to this. All of this is on the developer version of the OS for all you future peeps who might read this. TL;DR: Windows 10 works good on Mac; some ways better than Mac OS. In my distant future I hope to only use one computer (probably a macbook) that I can use for work (I'll make it work) then have probably multiple OSs for work and home then use it in desktop mode like I have my MBA in now when I'm at home. I don't like having more than one computer and I'm sure I wont really need much graphics power when I'm out of college.
