I used to be a dedicated PC gamer. My earliest experience was playing Battle Tank on an NES clone when I was five, but that doesn't define my long-term passion. For over a decade now, I've stuck with PC gaming. Recently, I've noticed more people moving from consoles to PC. This shift is partly due to the popularity of many PC tech and gaming channels on YouTube, which have drawn console players in. In recent years, PC gaming has seen a noticeable increase after the challenging period from 2008 to 2011 when it was often dismissed as outdated.
I've been playing together since 2004, using my Nintendo 64 and GameCube a lot. I also enjoyed a lot of arcade games on my PC and Runescape.
Xbox, DS, Gameboy, Xbox360, PS2—definitely tried a few, but now I’m not really into games anymore.
I played PC until my dad switched to Xbox, by then the setup felt too old. Eventually I moved to an Xbox 360. Now I switch between TF2 on my sister's laptop, GTA and BF3 on the 360. Once I have a new machine, I’ll stick to PC again.
a large discussion revolved around the same topic, many began focusing on consoles while others shifted to a more mixed perspective.
I began my Mac gaming journey during its prime era. Later, I got a Windows PC, but with fewer titles it took time to dive in deeply. Morrowind seems to have been the game that truly changed me. I invested over 4,000 hours playing and modifying it. Still, I long for those classic Mac exclusives—Marathon Infinity, Durandal, Prime Target, Escape Velocity (the best space trading game ever!)—and many other great titles. Some have made the switch to PC, which is a relief. The only consoles I owned were Nintendo and the Nintendo 64. I borrowed an early Xbox for a week and immediately disliked it.
I'm not like some of the more privileged forum members. I have both a PC and a PS3, and I enjoy playing them both. While I play PC games more often, that doesn't make consoles any less valid. My PS3 has only one game, the GT6, which is more of a simulation than a typical title. When GTA V for PC releases, I'll definitely lean toward using my PC then.
