My wife moved her computer over to my room near hers. She is now connected wirelessly using a NetGear USB stick that supports both Wi-Fi and Dual Band features. However, since she is in the same room as my Verizon router, I need to break one of its ports and plug in an Ethernet splitter so we can connect both computers directly to it. Since I am new to this, please be very specific and clear. Read carefully what I found on Amazon below because I thought it would be simple, but maybe not. I also want to go to my local Best Buy to get these items for a reasonable price (maybe under $10 each). The ethernet cable might cost around $20 if you find the right one. Please advise me. Since there is too much information online and it's confusing, I will paste some product descriptions here because they sound simple at first but are tricky. Some people say that some models do not allow both computers to connect at the same time! Do they really? Maybe you can recommend the simplest and smallest option that lets us both be online together on the internet. Thanks so much for your help.

1)Can you plug the male end into the modem, and the two female ends into the routers? Answer: It CAN work, but there are important rules here. This Ethernet splitter allows TWO computers to share one connection line ONE AT A TIME. However, it does NOT allow both computers to connect at the exact same time simultaneously!
2)RJ45 Splitter Connectors Adapter... (I am sorry for the long product name, but that is what it says). Note: I see if you read this carefully, some say you CANNOT run BOTH AT THE SAME TIME??
3)GELRHONR RJ45 Splitter Adapter... It says these two devices can surf the internet SIMULTANEOUSLY. This one works for Cat5e/Cat6 connectors and solves connection problems from too many wires. The main idea is that TWO things can work at once, but you must use splitters in PAIRS if you only have one splitter. If you buy just ONE, only one port works, and the other DOES NOT WORK.
4)SinLoon... This product uses a physical separation trick to split one cable into two for two computers online. It says it is different from another product that CANNOT do this simultaneously.

Hi Mr. C, I think this might be the ONLY one that clearly says BOTH will work at the same time?? Please let me know what you think about this because buying something simple should not have been a hard problem! And finally, if you could recommend the best kind of ethernet cable for a 6 to 10 foot length (maybe High-Speed heavy duty would be best?), I am really eager to hear your advice.

Is this the right phone for Verizon? Maybe all you really need are just some switches and a few Cat5e cords. But first, we have to find out exactly which model Verizon has.

I was hoping to BUY at Amazon or Best Buy to split my connection with my wife's computer and get RID of the NetGear Wireless-N-Dual Band stick? (A-Pair) RJ45 Splitter Adapter, SinLoon Ethernet Cable Splitter Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6, Cat7,RJ45 Network Extension Connector Ethernet Cable Sharing Kit for Router TV Box Camera PC Lapop (Black)-- for $8.98 Below are the pics of my router NOW on my computer and the pics of my wife's wireless stick. I am hoping to split the two with the basic splitter and ethernet cable-- can you please let me know what to purchase that can easily split our two connections. it should be easy? and thank you, people. I really thought I would need ONE splitter as the AMAZON item shows and ONE MORE ethernet cable to go from the back of her computer INTO the splitter where MINE will now go and then back into the router--? I am confused as to why I need a COUPLE of Cat5 cables--- as state MINE is connected NOW with an ethernet cable- All I need I think is ONE ethernet cable to go into the back of HER system and the other end INTO the 2 port sided splitter and then MY computers ethernet cable into the other port on the splitter and then that one ended port into the back of the router- so why do I need multiple cables? I am really confused. Please advise I am trying to insert pictures from my iphone- How do I do that here-- it keeps asking for an http??
