I need to move this software so it can run on my computer without needing special files or extra downloads.
I have a program on my laptop that won't run directly on my PC because some features need to be added. I want to know if I can put this in a USB drive and try it out on my desktop without installing the main parts, since the chess game called Rybka Aquarium is already installed but I just can't open the "opening book" feature which isn't very heavy. Is there a way to copy the whole thing from my laptop to my PC so I don't have to reinstall everything? Any help would be great! Thanks
If you cannot just copy all the folders and files and make sure they work properly, there might be registry entries, redistributables, or other .ini or .dll files that need to be installed by themselves. If the software is linked to a specific user or system account, then logging in with those same details could let you reinstall it. However, if this was just one-time install license, you are trying to crack it. That's against Tom's rules and you should look for another way to do that stuff.
If you can't just copy and paste all the files and folders so it works without any problems, then there might be registry entries, extra programs needed, or some configuration files that have to be installed separately. If the software is tied to a specific user account on your computer, logging in with the same info lets you reinstall it easily. But if this was just one-time purchased, trying to run it again would mean stealing protected content. That's against Tom's rules and should not happen there.
