I'm considering two motherboards for my first build: ASUS TUF gaming X570 WiFi and Gigabyte X570 AORUS ELITE WIFI. Any thoughts or experiences with either? Thanks!

Good luck with your search! They're still out of stock everywhere, but I found a backorder option. Based on reviews and research, the ASUS TUF X570 WiFi seems like a solid choice compared to other options. Since you already own an ASUS monitor, it makes sense to stick with one brand for consistency.

Based on reviews and research, the ASUS TUF X570 WiFi seems like a solid choice compared to other options. Since you already own an ASUS monitor, it makes sense to stick with one brand for consistency.

I had to place a back order too. I noticed the alternative would arrive faster, and the price difference isn’t huge, but I didn’t want a device that wouldn’t hold up.

In technical terms, the Aorus performs better, while the TUF offers a solid alternative without the high price tag of the Aorus.

Both boards are solid choices. I’d pick the Elite. TUF offers a slight edge in VRM cooling, especially with 16-core CPUs—temperature stays low even at high loads, making the difference minimal. The Aorus Elite includes a USB 10G header on the front panel, which is a nice feature. However, it only provides one HDMI output for integrated graphics, which might be a drawback if you rely on those. GB has more USB 2.0 ports compared to PS2 support, and its PCIe layout seems better for future upgrades. If you’re into PS2 peripherals, TUF has the PS2 connector for mice or keyboards, adding value. GB lacks PS2 but offers four USB 2.0 connectors (two 3.0G/5Gb, two 3.1G/10G), giving flexibility. Visually, GB’s design is cleaner, with a visible M.2 SSD heatsink above the card and a more organized layout. On the TUF side, the PCIe x1 slot gets blocked by the first card, limiting the number of cards you can install—typically 3 on the board. In contrast, GB allows four cards in the same slot. Overall, GB shines with connectivity and aesthetics, while TUF excels in cooling and certain peripheral options.
