i need help with choosing my ram
Your RAM is DDR3, and if you purchase a similar model with the same speed as your old RAM, it should work. Different manufacturers may offer compatible options, but as long as the specifications match, you should be fine.
These are unrelated inquiries. They should function with memory from any brand. Combining RAM from various makers can occasionally lead to problems. Even using the same brand but varying specifications might cause issues. As long as you're operating within standard rates (JEDEC), the chances are minimal. Typically, it will work fine. The main concern arises when overclocking (manually or via XMP), which may result in instability and prevent full XMP performance.
Company choices vary based on similar settings. It works well for my PSCs and Samsung GDies, letting me combine top PSC sticks with best GDies. They both run smoothly at 3000 DDR3, though I haven’t tested booting yet. The GDies handle 3100 without problems, while the PSC crashes after a while at 3000. Mixing different revisions and speedbins doesn’t affect stock performance; only the actual RAM speeds matter. Using the same BIOS won’t change the fact that the motherboard will run at its slowest RAM speed. Swapping revisions can cause problems, but I haven’t encountered any yet since I only have Samsung GDies and Samsung FDie options. It’s safer to stick with one manufacturer than risk compatibility issues.
