I've been playing this game for about a month now. Overall, it's performed well given my older CPU, though the lag spikes have been getting worse lately. I'm trying to figure out what might be causing the issue. I'll share my specs below and would appreciate any suggestions on adjusting settings. Just got an SSD, so maybe the configuration isn't optimal. It could also be related to my network connection. I'm feeling a bit stuck and unsure why the game is so inconsistent. My chipset is outdated, but I'm hopeful I can work around it and still enjoy the experience.

If you're noticing microstutters, I can confirm the smoothness isn't fully there even at 144hz on a 7700k with a 1080ti, both heavily overclocked. This game really lacks proper optimization. When compared to something like Doom, it feels disappointing (though not every game fits that standard).

It might be related to servers, are you certain it's FPS lag spikes? Additionally, if your specs don’t match the recommended ones, there’s limited room for improvement—like overclocking or skipping background apps.

Development is ongoing, and understanding what to enhance is essential. Performance improvements are key—removing elements like Foliage and Shadows from screenshots boosts efficiency and provides a competitive edge in the game.

I’ve got most of it working except for the bottom render distance, but I still notice small delays and occasional lag spikes. My thought is this is network-related, as it seems to worsen when others are nearby and affects me along with my teammates. The microstutter isn’t too severe, just quite obvious when performance drops from a decent frame rate at 144hz. I’ve tested the game on various setups—different boards, GPUs, SSDs, cooling methods, driver versions—and nothing has been this smooth. I read about some upcoming fixes that might help, so I’m hoping for an improvement soon.

I really think my CPU is up to the task. It's been optimized to 3 GHz and sometimes runs smoothly. I’m not sure if it’s a firewall problem or something else. Probably not the SSD, though.

they highlighted improvements aimed at budget systems in the upcoming update. It might be worth waiting to confirm functionality before getting overly concerned. remember, this is still in the early stages.

It ran good after a reset but still a lot of room for improvement. Possible memory leak?

Currently, the most viable option seems to be upgrading your setup. Even without early access, it's clear that PUBG favors contemporary CPUs. The Q6600 is a decade-old processor, and assuming it can handle a newer engine meant for modern hardware is overly hopeful. Any CPU slower than the FX-6000 series is likely to cause performance problems in PUBG.
