Grand Theft Auto IV is experiencing significant loading issues and fails to launch consistently on a laptop featuring an Intel Core i5-8300H processor, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, and a GTX 1050 graphics card with 4GB of GDDR5 VRAM. The game initially loaded successfully after applying a specific fix, but subsequent attempts have resulted in a blurry black and white Rockstar screen and failure to launch. Troubleshooting efforts, including command-line fixes and solutions for similar configurations, have been unsuccessful. Potential conflicts include excessive loading times, the inability to launch, and issues related to alt-tabbing. The user seeks step-by-step guidance on resolving these issues, specifically focusing on potential software conflicts or configuration limitations that may be affecting game performance.

I had an issue with steam with a similar problem with a different game. I tried everything, reinstalling the game, wiping the games files, etc. the way that I’d recommend you fix your issue is to delete all the game’s files in %appdata% and reinstall, and if that doesn’t work reinstall your OS (how I fixed my issue)

That sucks
🙁
My suggestion would be to back up all files that you need to a flash drive, and reinstalling your OS.

I am sad now XD........I've tried that too. No luck...was just a headache because my internet is pathetically slow (no fibre optic cables in my area😫)

Do you know any of the fixes for GTA IV? I am willing to try every one of them. It ran FLAWLESSLY smooth during the 15 minutes I spent playing it. I quit the game myself, I dont recall it crashing

Numerous potential issues might have arisen, yet erasing each specific game file and re-establishing them would be my sole recourse besides a complete system restoration.

Do you have it accessed through a physical disc or a digital download?

To anyone who views this message, I have one final inquiry. My recently purchased Acer Nitro 5 AN515-53 features 8GB of 2666MHz DDR4 RAM, a GeForce GTX 1050 with 4GB of GDDR5 memory (excluding the GTX 1050Ti), and an 8th generation Core i5-8300H processor that’s been boosted to 4GHz. I understand that it's possible to increase the performance of this graphics card, and I'm seeking guidance on how to do so. I already possess MSI Afterburner and numerous system monitoring tools, including Hwinfo64 and Rivatuner & Afterburner configured for On-Screen Display. My laptop doesn’t experience excessive temperatures during intense gaming sessions, and I also use a USB cooling device with four fans. Furthermore, I'm investigating solutions for performance issues in Battlefield 4 and Grand Theft Auto IV, which currently run inconsistently under Windows 10. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
