Hey everyone, I’m looking to set up two accounts on my PC. One account should be completely locked so I can’t make any changes—no writing, deleting, or creating. The other account needs full access to manage SSD operations like writing, deleting, and creating files. I’m trying this with two users but so far I can’t get any control over the SSD. Is there another approach I should try?

Specify precisely where you’d like restrictions applied. You shouldn’t remove all writing rights entirely; in the user’s environment they’re necessary, or otherwise Windows might fail. Also, are you referring to a Windows user account?

Security panel? You can define read and write rights, including blocking certain users.

When discussing a different partition, it becomes straightforward; on C:... It will be challenging.

No, there's an admin template for that User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Explorer Then on the right there's a setting "prevent access to drives" or something similar.

The situation still hinges on the specific location he aims to limit. You can't eliminate every single write permission, but we can identify the areas that require access.

I know several friends using PCs, I own five machines. I need to restrict all access on the C drive (SSD) specifically for Windows and Programs. I want to keep the drive clean, avoiding any downloads or modifications, so only I should be able to make changes by changing the user permissions.

You can achieve this with the Group Policy Editor and apply the setting I mentioned before. It’s a bit involved, so here’s a step-by-step guide to assist you. Keep in mind it may take a while as I’m busy with work and have other tasks!
