I need assistance with BSoD.
I need assistance with BSoD.
Hello, I just acquired this new setup within a week.
Hardware details: Motherboard – MSI Z790 Gaming Plus WiFi, CPU – Intel i7 14700K, GPU – PNY 3070 8GB, RAM – Corsair Vengeance DDR5 6000 (2 x 16GB), AIO – MSI MAG coreliquid m240, SSD – Crucial P3 Plus 1TB, PSU – MSI 850w 80+.
Today I experienced my first BSOD after watching a movie on the second monitor and returning to "show only on monitor 1" in display settings. I need assistance figuring out what might have triggered it, as I’m unsure how to interpret the dump file.
Event viewer notes:
"The system restarted without a clean shutdown. This issue may stem from the system failing to respond, crashing, or losing power suddenly." Event ID 41
Bugcheck code10
I also found the .dmp file here: https://www.mediafire.com/file/txb7jn54x...234-01.dmp
I performed some tests using OCCT on CPU, RAM, and GPU recently to verify everything was functioning properly, and no errors were reported.
BIOS is up to date.
Bios has been updated to the most recent version. For context, some users mentioned they were on the newest BIOS but later found updates still needed.
When you say you're watching a movie, what application were you using?
Analyzing your .dmp file with WInDBG reveals: IMAGE_NAME: ntkrnlmp.exe
FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: AV_nt!KiInsertQueueApc

Are there any warnings in Device Manager with a yellow exclamation mark?
it seems like you were trying to run Windows setup and ended up terminating a Discord process, which triggered the bugcheck. I’d just ignore this one.

🙁
this isn’t related to the bugcheck
overclock driver is active: iocbios2.sys Fri Jun 16 15:05:53 2023
your CPU was released: Intel® Core i7-14700K
on Oct 17 2023. Usually you need an overclock driver that supports your CPU model. That means a version updated after your CPU’s release date.
I’d consider updating the
Intel Extreme Tuning Utility
or replacing the old driver. You might find the latest info here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/...etect.html
also, after a BIOS update, your overclock drivers should be refreshed or reset because some configurations change with the update
Thank you for your responses, here are some clarifications based on your messages.
The MSI support page lists AMI BIOS E06vH7 dated 2024-10-09, with no other BIOS updates shown. For relevance, I also updated the firmware to ME_16.1.32.2473, which matches the current version.
I was using Prime Video via Firefox and no other applications were running.
No issues were reported in the Device Manager.
When the blue screen appeared, I tried closing Discord, reverted to single screen, clicked on the Discord tray to close it, but the blue screen returned immediately.
Additionally, a pending Windows update was waiting until I turned off the PC to install; after rebooting from the Blue Screen of Death, Windows updated itself and the display returned to dual.
In summary, it seems nothing is amiss, so you probably don’t need to worry much about this issue.
Thank you, and I’ll proceed with the update now.
