I remain hopeful about getting the virus out, though I won’t take that path. In this economic situation, the only thing I can afford right now is a Nokia phone, and most of my schoolwork is done on it (laptops aren’t permitted here). I’ll explore what I can manage but also check out what @Sawa Takahashi mentioned.

I hesitated to choose that path right away since the costs seemed unclear. We were discussing five laptops, five phones, one PC, four flash drives, two external HDDs, and two routers. We brought a laptop and my PC to a professional who cleaned them up, but there were so many more devices involved. I plan to look for local contacts to compare prices, hoping it might be cheaper than purchasing new phones and a router. I’ll also consider the situation with the hackers from my family—someone on campus didn’t have deep computer expertise, and they likely used code from the dark web. I noticed signs on Windows, but after installing Linux, nothing similar appeared.

Prioritize tranquility while managing expenses. You control the price. Avoid settling if the threat is that severe.

It seems like you're questioning the relevance of the story if it's true. Most likely, the issue lies with your router or modem—possibly undetectable malware that requires a full reset, including BIOS and passwords. This could stem from various causes, not just one reason. Consider following @whispous' advice and try using Malwarebytes ADW cleaner as a starting point.

if you think with me, it makes sense if not. I’ve done my best to share facts, but I don’t have solid proof. My biggest issue is that I didn’t have time to log everything. I’m unsure if I can completely clear all traces because my old laptop is only about ten years old and I haven’t found its BIOS. I’ve switched to a password manager long ago, so when it’s clean I’ll use it again. I got one from someone else too, but it feels like a coincidence. I’m not sure if cleaning this one will remove another virus, or if there could be more. Honestly, I don’t remember running it before, so I did. It found nothing, though. When we brought the PC to a pro, they gave me antivirus software I’ve been using since. My new computer might have been infected too—maybe when I bought it. I asked the seller for test programs to check, but the software came from my infected main machine via a flash drive.
