I need assistance eliminating the network worm.
I need assistance locating the virus and clearing my entire system. My family recently faced a hacking incident where they were trying to retrieve something sensitive. After the attempt failed, they moved into long-term surveillance for several months. They discovered the malicious activity and left. This situation happened years ago, but the evidence remains. Their network devices—phones, PCs, laptops—were monitored, calls were delayed, and remote access was possible. A background script would launch when a new device connects, installing updates automatically.
If you have any debug information from the old machine or can share more details, it would help. I’m capable of handling most technical tasks, but I’d appreciate guidance on identifying the threat and removing it safely. Let me know how to proceed.
Begin by clearing everything on every device you own. No exceptions allowed. Once you’re done, ensure each system is fully wiped before connecting it back online. After that, swap out your router completely—replace it if needed—to eliminate any risk. Update your mobile phones immediately. Lock down all your email accounts, making sure SMS isn’t enabled as a second factor. Don’t alter passwords from personal devices; keep them unchanged unless you’re certain of a clean setup. Update every password across all platforms to strong, unique ones. If these steps aren’t followed, an infection could quickly reappear and waste your time and money.
I strongly agree. Either you wipe everything completely or there's no point in doing anything to help. I don't think it's worth pursuing anything legally.
If the situation reaches this level, reach out to the relevant authorities for protection and assistance. The local police or other protective services should be able to help or point you toward reliable resources. I recommend seeking professional guidance to navigate this. Every internet-connected device nearby—whether it's your neighbors' systems, appliances, TV, phone, or computer—can be at risk. Stay safe!
Your router and phones are nearing their end of life, but you’re not ready to replace everything just yet. You’re considering using your existing ISP router for cleaning tasks.
