I recently experienced an improvement in my Wi-Fi speed reaching 150 Mbps. I use a Wi-Fi adapter for my connection, but my home building restricts anyone from installing Ethernet cables without paying high fees. The adapter generally functions well most of the time, though it tends to disconnect during streaming sessions and fail to recognize itself again until I restart the device. I suspect the issue isn’t with the Wi-Fi itself, as it worked before, but rather with the adapter. I’m curious if others have faced similar problems and what solutions they tried. I’m also unsure about the exact model of my current adapter and plan to update this post once I have more information.

I would choose a PCIe Wi-Fi card since they generally offer higher speeds.

I don't have personal preferences, but I can suggest options based on general information.

I enjoy my Asus AC55-BT, it's a solid budget option. Mostly I connect via Ethernet, but sometimes I use it for gatherings and setups (yes, I also bring my mid-tower to the LAN). There are different models available: a low-end one under $30 that still outperforms USB adapters, a mid-range at $50, a high-end at $70 (for those with a 3x3 Wi-Fi setup), and an overpriced $110 model only if you have a 4x4 router. The $30 version should work fine, though if you frequently download games or stream videos, the $50 one might be better.
